Erik’s Ranch will offer rewarding on-site employment opportunities for residents and off-site jobs developed in partnership with the neighboring community. We know that large numbers of people in the autistic population want to work, but often only a small percentage actually do – because of lack of knowledge about transition services, help needed with daily life or a job, or unawareness of agencies or professionals that can help them find work.
Many of the sample job opportunities at the Ranch listed below are a welcome departure from the mostly service industry jobs available for those with autism in the current marketplace.
- Sous Chef
- Historian
- Environmental Researcher
- Gardener
- Tour Guide
- Equestrian Groom
- Personal Concierge
- Grounds or Pool Maintenance
- Animal Care Assistant
- Artist in Residence
- Event Planner
At both the Ranch and in the community, we’ll create partnerships so that local experts can work side by side with our residents, mentoring their success. The ultimate goal is to build skills and continued independence, aligning residents with the things they love to do and helping them learn to the best of their ability.
