At Erik’s Ranch, our residents will experience a life that’s meaningful to them as individuals with something to contribute and a “say” in their future. They’ll live and work among caring individuals who understand that, though autism is life-long, it doesn’t preclude having a great life of one’s choosing.
Life at the Ranch will include many types of activities that are desirable, meaningful, and inclusive to those who may struggle with spoken language, but have significant physical energy. Encouraging our residents and guests to participate will increase their fitness, and promote healthy cardiovascular levels along with strength and endurance – factors important for any individual to lead a healthy and productive life.
Erik’s Ranch will offer these activities and take advantage of many others in the surrounding area:
- Horseback riding
- Photo safaris
- Skiing
- Biking
- Swimming
- Hiking
- Fishing
- Massage
- Music/Theater
- Gardening
- Physical/Media art
- Attendance at concerts, films, plays, State/National Park visits, animal habitats, special events, etc.
- Caring for animals
- “Work” opportunities that support the activities
Our living environment will tailor work and leisure to its residents … to help them discover the things that bring them enjoyment, encourage interaction with others, and provide a sense of accomplishment while they help to support a dynamic living environment that makes it all possible.
